Several tests satisfactorily demonstrate that Flamastic KBS COATING prolonging the operational capability, in terms of minutes of time, of electrical cables during a flame propagation. 
A clearcut example of how the
Flamastic KBS COATING acts to postpone failure is provided by different test results for different power cables: the uncoated specimen often fail after approx. 4-8 minutes, while its coated counterpart continue operating for much longer time depending on actual temperature (see e.g test result in IEC 331-1-21).     


The significance of such a benefit relates to the criticality period immediately after the accident occurs. Even after the fire is detected, minutes may pass before it is precisely located, and before fire- fighting personnel and equipment arrive at the location. In effect Flamastic KBS COATING "buys time" by maintaining circuit integrity, thus enabling the operational functions to continue while the conflagaration is being brought under control.

Other benefits of Flamastic KBS COATING are: (1) Placed alongside one another cables tend to "feed" upon each other, prolonging the fire.
